My beastie and I enjoyed our quiet dinner. The staff was cleaning around 7.30 and inbetween tasks took our order. The resteraunt was spotless top to bottom. The music was calming and going along with the videos on the tv screens. My spicey and regular poke were both well balanced and proportioned. The kimchi coleslaw was super spicey but I kept going back for more. I only wished the spicey edamame was warm and not cold.
Food has a lot flavor; Sauces and Dressings are delicious. Portions are nice sizes. Friendly services. But, the cleanliness of the dinning areas could use improvements. 4 stars.
Food is tasty with a handful of options. I like the chicken teriyaki, Mac salad, and kimchi slaw. Very quick service. Very reasonable price for lunch. Recommend getting a side of creamy sesame salad dressing regardless of it you get a salad.
Great place I have been coming to for years. Always loved their poke. Everyone is very friendly. Lunch time gets busier with businesses around. But overall, always plenty of space to sit down. Food was always a bit more expensive in comparison to some other Hawaiian places. But not a factor to remove a whole star.
Decided to order myself some lunch and saw on UberEats that Makai was having a BOGO free meal offer, so decided to go for it! It's been a while since I've eaten here and I honestly forgot how much I looooved Makai. I ordered for delivery and got the two small plates (BOGO) which was nice! The small plate was perfect for me. It came with a protein, rice and mac salad. I got the katsu chicken, which is my absolute favorite. It also came with the sauce and their sauce here is honestly perfect. The mac salad is really the star of the show for me though. It's soooo good. It was perfect to get two plates because my husband at the other one as a snack later. I'll definitely be ordering from them again soon because I literally forgot how much I love this place! Their food is so good and the chicken katsu is some of the best, at least in my opinion! YUM!
Consistency is definitely a Makai strength when it comes to food quality. The dining area is always clean as was the restroom. We ordered food to go for ourselves and the kids. We live at n the NW but the kids live in Henderson. We appreciate that no matter what location we visit, the food is always great. The employee who put our food together was fast efficient and friendly. The young man who rang us up was likely new bc he had a hard time ringing us up and our food was bagged kind of sloppy. Not a big deal. We rearranged everything when we got in the car. Food as always was delicious and we will certainly continue to enjoy Makai.
A curious event happened today. We traveled to the Henderson locale after eating at Rock Springs yesterday and it wasn't quite the same. The teriyaki chicken was better here. ???? The edamame was saltier and the macaroni salad was the big hit. The people all friendly, but busy, no time for chat. Atmosphere: Huge dining area, tiny parking area. We watched a cool video from the islands. Not much Hawaii after that. The meal hits the spot, accordingly, but next visit I'm getting the poke with the tuna! 03/24
